ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Borden of Yale was penned by British missionary Mary Geraldine Guinness Taylor (1862–1949), also known by her married name, Mrs. Howard Taylor. Her husband was Frederick Howard Taylor (1862–1946), second son of missionary Hudson Taylor (1832–1905), founder of the China Inland Mission. Mrs. Taylor was a prolific writer, publishing many classics related to the efforts of the China Inland Mission. The most well-known include Hudson Taylor’s Spiritual Secret (1932), The Triumph of John and Betty Stam (1935), and this book, Borden of Yale (1926). A lesser-known work of hers is a missiological study greater Gansu (province), published in 1923: The Call of China’s Great Northwest.
